AcuRite 00613 Indoor Humidity Monitor Review – Simple and Accurate

By Tuan Do

After seeing mold and fungi on the furniture, I know I have to take a better control of the humidity level in my house. Then, I was looking for a humidity monitor and the AcuRite 00613 came up. This is a low-priced device but it is the bestseller on Amazon with great reviews. More than 80% of the reviewers recommended the product, so I didn’t hesitate to give it a chance.

Unboxing

Features & Performance

The AcuRite 00613 is actually a combination of an indoor humidity gauge and thermometer. On the display, you can see the humidity level on top, a house icon indicating if it’s low, ok, or high. Right below, the are two numbers showing the daily low and high humidity level which is recorded over the last 24-36 hours. On the bottom half of the display, you can see the current indoor temperature, along with the daily low and high temperature. You can switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius by pressing the button on the back.

The device is quite easy to install as there is already a magnet on the back, so you can easy stick it on the fridge or any metal surface. There is also a pop-out stand to place it on the table.

It is powered by an AA battery and the battery life is said to be around 8-9 months.

In terms of accuracy, the temperature accuracy is +/- 2 degrees Fahrenheit, and the humidity accuracy is from +/- 3% to +/- 5%, depending on the humidity range. The most accurate range is from 20% to 80%.

Overall, this is a useful, accurate, and cheap humidity monitor. I highly recommend the product.
