Apple has sent out invitations for the special event on March 2 at 10 a.m. at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater in San Francisco.
The invitation comes with an image showing a corner of iPad 2 covered by a Calendar-like graphic. The big “2” is the release day of this product and also hints subtly that iPad 2 will be announced on this day. The invitations also include a tagline “Come see what 2011 will be the year of.”
Earlier, iPad 2 has become the focus of technology communities. The iOS 4.3 beta 2 shows the screen of iPad 2 with 3 new icons – FaceTime, Camera and Photo Booth.
In details, FaceTime will be the application that allows iOS and Mac OS X users to video chat, Camera allows taking pictures with the front or back camera. Photo Booth is an application that captures images, video with lots of nice effects, then we can edit it immediately. Therefore, we can expect the iPad 2 will be equipped with 2 cameras.
