The AUKEY mini drone is probably the smallest drone available on the market, besides, it’s very cheap as well. However, is it really worth buying?
Unboxing & Testing
Features & Performance
This is purely a drone with no camera at all. As compared to my DJI drone, this one is tiny and can stand on my palm. Inside the box, we have the AUKEY drone, some replacement propellers, and a USB charging cable. The drone uses a proprietary charging port, so you’d better keep the cable safe.
To operate the drone, you will need to install the Darkwing app which is available on Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Then, connect your phone to the drone’s Wi-Fi, run the app, and start controlling the AUKEY drone. The process is quite easy and it takes me no time to get used to the controls. We had some good time playing with it, it can take off with 1 touch and can make some acrobatic flips.
However, I’ve had some problems when flying the drone. Firstly, it is not really stable. Even when I don’t touch any control, the drone doesn’t stand still and sometimes change the altitude suddenly. Another issue is the extremely short battery life. Basically, you will need to recharge it after a 2-minute flight.
The AUKEY Mini Drone is fun for kids and you can fly it indoors as well. However, it has a lot of limitations and I wouldn’t spend more than $10 for the product.
