I’ve tested many desk lamps recently and I could see the new trend of making smarter and more flexible lamps. The Coocheer LED desk lamp is not a smart one but it is still offering some useful features. Let’s check it out.

As compared to my recent desk lamps, the Coocheer is the most flexible one. You can rotate the whole body, adjust the angle of the body, adjust the angle of the head, and even rotate the head to the left and right. When you are not reading and just need a small light source, you can close the head. This is also useful when you use the lamp as a night light.
The fully adjustable design sounds interesting, considering that this is a low-budget light. However, it shows a lot of limitations on this product. The lamp is made of plastic with the glossy finish but it doesn’t look as gorgeous as on product images on Amazon. Moreover, the build quality is quite flimsy; I have the feeling that it will be broken into parts if I accidentally drop it on the ground. Fortunately, the base is heavy enough to keep the lamp stay steady on my desktop.
An advantage of the Coocheer light is that a USB port is included on the side, so you will be able to easily charge your smartphone without reaching your power adapter. The port can output 12V/2A, so it can charge Android smartphones pretty fast.
You can change between lighting modes with the touch control on the front. There are 4 different modes, including Reading, Study, Relax, and Sleep. Each mode will show a different brightness level and color temperature. You can also change the brightness with the 2 arrow buttons on top.
I tested the lamp for a few weeks and quite satisfied with its performance. I put it side by side with the Mi smart desk lamp and set them both at maximum brightness level. It seems like the 2 LED lights have the same power. The only difference is that the Mi lamp produces a more concentrated light, this is understandable as the Coocheer’s head is wider. You can totally be confident that the lamp is powerful enough for reading or other works.
Conclusion
The Coocheer dimmable LED desk lamp is a good product, it offers some useful features while keeps the price very low. If you don’t mind the average build quality, we totally recommend the product, you can also find it under some other brands like Lampat, TaoTronics or Divine LEDs.
