Blogging has gained immense popularity in the recent times due its multiple advantages and utilities. Be it merely passing on time by reading or writing some interesting blogs or earning money some good money by blogging or enriching your knowledge, blogging has a lot to offer to everyone.
Writing blogs invites reviews, comments and feedbacks and with appreciation and positive comments also come the rude, negative and criticizing comments; these comments can make or break a blogger. A successful person is one who knows how to handle both his success and failures, in the same way a successful blogger is one who knows how to deal with both the positive and negative comments. These handling skills become a must know especially if you are in the initial stages of tour career. So here is a list of the best ways to deal with rude comments on your blog.
Comment Policy
There are a few people who intentionally make inappropriate comments either to come in the lime light or just for fun, there also exist a few who while giving their reviews forget that the same is to be shared on world wide web and thus forget to mind their language. Thus a firm comments policy must be designed and implemented so that the comments and reviews could be filtered by the moderators and any abusive or too rude remark could be removed in order to protect the interest of the blogger and the reader. Make sure that the moderators censor the comments with a practical and not emotional aspect and without being biased.
Respond in General
There are situations when a blogger considers a rude comment or a review as a personal remark on his image. Always keep in mind that the reviews whether good or bad is about the blog and not the blogger so respond accordingly, try to defend the blog instead of accusing or questioning the commenter. In case of comments being an attack on the blogger without any valid reason and just with the motive to spoil the show remember that you do have the option of removing the comment and blocking the person to avoid him from adding further comments. Remember to write a blog with zero tolerance to nuisance.
Draft a Solution
It is always good to discuss than argue as discussion is a gain and exchange of knowledge but argument is a loss. There could be a deep and important but hidden point in a rude comment; just try to know the opinion of the commenter if find it valid implement it in next related blog if not try to convey tour opinion to him and persuade him peacefully and skillfully. Remember if you can make him understand your point of view then this will be your greatest victory and a success indication for your blog.
Learn to Ignore
There are a few comments especially made to spoil the beauty of the blog. Try to recognize such comments; the rude comments made by anonymous senders without any valid email id are usually of such type. The best way to deal with such comments is mere ignoring as these comments are incoherent and do not raise any real issues. Just press the delete key and move on; after all it is your blog and you hold the right to manage it accordingly.
Making Lemonade from Lemons
Obstacles are stepping stones for those who know how to overcome them and tumbling blocks to those who fail to those who just fail to find the way out. May the review could turn out to be a new issue to write about just try to take inspiration from wherever possible. Step up and show the blogging world you too have some clout. So simply use your understanding skills and try to turn the tables completely.
A review whether positive or negative has an impact on the blogger. A rude negative review may affect the blogger and must be dealt properly. Just keep in mind that you are the authority for your blog. Try and accept the comments that you find worth considering whether positive or negative and remember that blogging is a long journey and there is always a scope of improvement.

I don’t get a lot of comments on my blog, so I wouldn’t know. However, a fellow blogger friend of mine did ask me this, “How do you recognize if the comment is a spam or not?” My answer: “If it relates to your blog post and/or does not contain a link towards any affiliate site or unrelated website, it pass as authentic. If too generic, block it.” How would you do it?

Spam comments are easy to spot. Like you said, they are often not talking about content of the article and include irrelevant links. I believe I didn’t miss any spam comment here. :D

I hope this is not a rude comment, but “ignorance” is not the same thing as “ignoring!” They are two different words with two very different meanings!!

Thanks a lot for pointing it out, Tim. Actually is is a supportive comment.
Many of us don’t use English as the 1st language, so there are mistakes sometimes. I really appreciate your careful reading. :)
