DREO is a new player in the home appliance industry but they’ve already released some impressive products. We’ve reviewed DREO fans and air fryer on TechWalls; All of them are still working well after over a year, therefore I was quite confident when testing their new DREO 44-inch smart ceiling fan with light. This is a very interesting product as it combines advanced smart features with an attractive design at an affordable price tag.
Simple Design and Easy Installation
The DREO Ceiling Fan comes in two sizes: a 44-inch model with four blades and a larger 52-inch model with five blades. I got the 44-inch model to replace my 20-year-old ceiling fan. The design is minimalist, featuring clean lines and smooth surfaces that make it suitable for various home décors, whether modern or classic. The fan blades are reversible, with one side displaying a wood grain finish and the other a gray color. This flexibility allows you to change the look of the fan whenever you want.
I’ve never installed or replaced a ceiling fan before, so I was a bit intimidated. However, it is actually quite straightforward and you can do it in less than an hour, that includes the time reading instructions, watching DREO’s installation video, removing the old fan, and replacing with the new DREO. The DREO fan arrives with most parts pre-assembled, reducing the installation process to just a few simple steps. You even don’t need a helper since there is a hook to hold the fan in place while wiring it to the junction box. The only problem is that the base of the fan is a bit smaller than my previous fan; It has the diameter of nearly 6 inches, therefore, it doesn’t fully cover my existing hole on the ceiling. You will need to look for a trim ring to cover the mounting area.

This is a feature I found myself using frequently, as it adds a unique and pleasant dynamic to the room.
Another convenient feature is the ability to reverse the fan’s direction with a simple tap in the app or on the remote control. This makes the fan suitable for year-round use, as it can push warm air down during winter months to help with heating efficiency. Most fans offer this functionality, but it usually requires a manual toggle switch on the fan itself, which is often overlooked by users. DREO’s approach is much more user-friendly and encourages regular use of this feature.

The fan is equipped with an LED light that offers up to 2,400 lumens of brightness, equivalent to a 24W LED bulb. The light’s color temperature is adjustable from a warm 2700K to a cool 6500K, allowing for a customizable ambiance to suit different needs, whether it be reading, working, or relaxing. The brightness can also be adjusted via a slider in the app, and the light transitions smoothly between settings rather than abruptly changing. It memorizes your changes, so you don’t have to readjust the light each time you turn it on.

Thanks to the brushless DC motor, the fan operates with minimal noise, making it ideal for bedrooms, living rooms, or any space. Even at higher speeds, the fan maintains a low noise profile, allowing you to enjoy the cooling breeze without the typical hum or whirr.
In terms of airflow, the 44-inch model provides up to 3,171 cubic feet per minute (CFM), which is more than adequate for a standard-sized room. This creates a cooling effect that feels more like a gentle outdoor breeze rather than the artificial blast of air that many fans produce.
