For those of you who are still mourning over the death of Flappy Bird after the developer of the game took it off from the app stores, there is still hope as Dong Nguyen in a detailed interview told Rolling Stone Magazine that he is considering to bring the famous Flappy Bird game back to the app stores.
The game got viral in just a month which according to Dong Nguyen ruined his life and he had to take the game off the stores. There were also rumors about Nintendo trying to sue Flappy Bird including death threats from unknown people that made Dong Nguyen bring his game down even though the game was generating over $50,000 daily for him.
Upon asking Dong Nguyen that how he felt after he took his greatest achievement down, he replied “Relief” and said that though I cannot go back to my old life but I’m feeling much better now. Though Dong Nguyen is only considering to bring back the game again, but he said that if he was going to launch the game again we will this time add a message to it which will ask players to “please take a break” as a warning.
Whatever his reasons were to bring the game down but he is considering to bring it back maybe because the $50,000 a day mark was too good to give away and he has realized that now, and considering the situation of Vietnam where an average person’s purchasing power is as low as $4,000 a year, this opportunity is a golden duck which will let him make 20-million a year.
We are not sure if the game will be able to achieve the same level of popularity it had before it was taken down but we won’t know for sure till Flappy Bird is back on the app stores, there are phone present on online auction sites and eBay selling for thousands of dollars just because it has the original copy of Flappy Bird installed in them.
What do you think was the reason that Dong Nguyen took the game down?
