Unboxing & Testing
Features & Performance
The Govee Aura is a table lamp but it is not supposed to be used for reading because it can’t provide enough light for your eyes. Its maximum brightness is 350 lumens and you can only read books when you sit right next to the lamp. This is not ideal because it would cause light glare. The Aura is more like a decorative lamp and I think it is very suitable for your bedroom or living room.
All control buttons are placed on the top of the lamp, including brightness down/up, color temperature, and music modes. The coolest feature of the lamp is probably the 4 music modes. Once enabled, it will use the built-in mic to detect ambient noises and react accordingly. You can check out demo in the video above. This feature absolutely will make your room more interactive and livelier.
However, the best lighting effects require you to install the Govee Home app. There are over 20 beautiful lighting effects in the app and of course, you can make your own if you want. My favorite effects are Rainbow, Ocean, Fire, Aurora, and Sunrise. They look just gorgeous and I believe you would stare at the light for a while. It looks so relaxing and I love that the color transition is so smooth and seamless.
Another reason you would want to set it up with the app is the support for both Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. I can easily use voice commands to power on/off, change brightness or color of the lamp.
Overall, the Govee Aura is a beautiful decorative lamp for your house, especially during the holiday season. We at TechWalls totally recommend the product.
