All of my previous indoor thermometers and hygrometers were basic products and didn’t have any other features, apart from measuring temperature and humidity. The Govee Temperature Humidity Monitor is the first smart product in the category that I’ve tested and surprisingly, it is even more affordable. We’re going to find out if it is any good.

Features & Performance
The Govee thermometer and hygrometer comes in a box with 2 packs which cost just over $22, that means each unit costs around $11. This is really a good price considering the fact that this is a smart product. I needed a thermometer for every room in my house, so getting the 2 packs is not a problem.
The Govee has a plastic enclosure but the built quality is quite solid. There are two ways to place the thermometer; You can either hang it on the wall or use the built-in stand to place it on your desktop. It is powered by two AAA batteries and according to the manufacturer, they could last up to 6 months. Another advantage is that there are already 4 AAA batteries inside the box, so you don’t need to buy extra batteries yet.
As soon as I powered on the Govee, I was really impressed with its screen. As compared to my previous products, undoubtedly the Govee’s screen is the clearest one. I can see the numbers easily even when viewing from a narrow angle or from a distance. The screen shows the current temperature, humidity, the maximum and minimum values in the last 24 hours, as well as the 3 indicators Dry/Comfort/Wet. There is a button on top allowing you to switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius degree.
The temperature is accurate to ±0.5°F and humidity is ±3%RH. However, the problem is that the two same devices are showing different readings and the difference in temperature is sometimes higher than 1°F.
Notably, you always see the latest reading thanks to the 2-second responsive speed. The most interesting feature is that it can be connected to your smartphone via the Govee Home app. Once set up via Bluetooth, you will be able to monitor the temperature and humidity over a time span of days, weeks, months, or years. The 2-year data can be exported to a CSV file at any time. Even when the Govee is not connected to your phone, it still saves all data in the last 20 days; Once connected, the data will be synced with the app.
Another useful feature is that you can set up a preset range; When the temperature or humidity goes of that range, you will receive a notification on your phone. This is helpful not only for your house but also for greenhouse, wine cellar, etc.
Overall, the Govee works and performs well as expected. This is an inexpensive device to make life smarter. A good device will help us control indoor temperature and humidity, and help avoid the danger of suffering from a heat disorder. If the sensors were more accurate and consistent, the device would be an easy recommendation.
