The iPhone 5S will hit the stores on Friday. For many orders, they could opt for a home delivery. However, anyone who has experienced waiting in line for the latest iPhone say that the experience is something everyone should experience just once in his or her lives.
Some have even said it’s better than Black Friday. If you want to experience this fun event that involves way more than just purchasing a phone, then you should check out our guide to waiting in line for the next iPhone. If you feel the need to, make sure to print it out before going in line.
iPhone Line Tip #1: Prepare Your Kit
Get in the mindset that waiting in line is kind of like camping, with a few added amenities. This requires extra planning that you may not need for a camping trip. First, make sure to have items for comfort and warmth, while still being portable. This means, don’t bring a tent. A nice foldable chair, sleeping bag, and blanket are sufficed.
You don’t want to be caught up in cleaning up your space while everyone is running in for the next revolutionary device. In addition to warmth and comfort, you have to remember that this is a tech event as well. Don’t forget your laptop, the device you are replacing, your iPad, and other gadgets to keep you busy.
IPhone Line Tip #2: Execute the Plan
Your bag is set and ready at the door. Now it’s time to create a good plan. First in this plan, you should think about when you should be there and when you should be finished. On launch day, being a Friday, we highly recommend starting your weekend on Thursday. Unless you want to be seen as the next Apple fanatic to make it on the local news, anything longer than a 24-36 hour wait isn’t necessary. Plus, you should base this upon your local Apple store.
If you live in New York, you’ll need a longer wait than let’s say an Apple store in a smaller town. Prepare to leave the Apple store around mid-morning Friday, based on where you are in line. Also, make time for breaks and the wonderful necessity of bathing and eating. You may find these tasks easier by employing friends and family to keep your space.
iPhone Line Tip #3: Employ Your Friends and Family
If you are in a long line for hours on end, it seems a lot more fun to have someone you know to wait with you. They’ll be the ones to keep you entertained when all of the iTunes movie rentals on your iPad are over. In addition, they are great spot keepers. If your wait is outside, you both can take turns staying awake to watch each other. Plus, when you want to sneak in a quick shower back at home, you’ll be assured you’ll have a saved spot when you return.
iPhone Line Tip #4: Plan for Life after the Launch
It’s Friday afternoon, you’re back in your warm home after a night in line waiting for the iPhone 5S. You are cozying up to your new device and reminiscing on the new friends and experiences made the night before. Depending on your experience, this can cause some people to look forward to the next launch a lot more.
If you want to keep the experience alive, try to keep in touch with the friendly people you met in line. In regards to your older device, why not make a buck or two from it? There are many options you are presented. You can get well over the price you paid if you sell over eBay or Craigslist. If you want a quicker (and sometimes safer) sale, Apple, Best Buy, and many other retailers offer great trade in options to choose from.
Conclusion
Excitement is increasing as the Friday date nears. Not only do you have an amazing device to look forward to, but also the new iOS5 software to play around with over the weekend. Waiting in line for your newest gadget is an experience that will be the cherry on top of a memorable day. You can keep the experience fun, exciting, and safe by following the tips we mentioned above.
Make sure to pack for a cold night, have a friend with you, and keep yourself entertained and busy. If you ordered online or not upgrading this year, why not spend your Friday witnessing all of the individuals as they wait in excitement? Even turn into a little reporter, ask what they are feeling, and be great company for many of the customers.

I would have thought that the iPhone 5s will not be as popular and I know not many will be upgrading theirs.
But since the confirmation says the stock is very limited, I guess camping is one way to go :)

I thought another way. iPhone 5S is a great upgrade for people who had 2-year contract with iPhone 4S. The new fingerprint sensor and camera is attractive as well. I read some early reviews and this seems to be a big hit this year. I just wish they expand the screen a little bigger. :)

They are still testing it out (rumor of a bigger screen iPhone thing), but either way, I’m happy. Wish it has a bigger screen but I agree after using HTC One and GALAXY S4, it’s a bit hard to use single-handedly. Great for watching news and tweeting though, which I do more often these days anyway
