If you are trying to print photos from your HP OfficeJet Pro Printer for the first time, you might be confused with how to load the papers properly. I did a quick Google search and ended up with a mess.
I put the papers facing up and the printer failed to feed properly; Besides, it gave the error: “Make sure paper is loaded and is below the paper stack tab or line shown on the tray.” And when the paper was finally feeding to the printer, it printed on the wrong side. So I realized I load the photo papers in the wrong direction. Here is how I finally made it work:
- Handle the photo papers with care to avoid touching the glossy or printable side to prevent smudges or fingerprints.
- Slide the paper width guides outward. These guides are usually located inside the input tray and help align the paper for proper feeding.
- Place the photo paper into the input tray with the printable side facing down, as this is the standard orientation for most HP OfficeJet Pro printers. For smaller paper sizes like 4×6 or 5×7 inches, ensure the short edge goes in first. Make sure the stack of photo paper is neatly aligned and not curled or bent. Slide the width guides inward so they rest snugly against the edges of the photo paper. This prevents skewing during printing.
- Open the document or photo you wish to print and select Print. Everything should work properly now.
Proper loading and handling of photo paper are key to preventing issues and ensuring good results. Hopefully you find the post useful.
