There are always some demands for ultra-mini wireless speakers because they are very portable and also has much lower prices. I’ve tried some of the tiny speakers such as the JBL Clip, Bassboomz or Jellyfish Music Cube, some are good and some are horrible.
Therefore, you should research carefully before buying. Today, we are taking a look at another small-sized Bluetooth speaker, the Inateck BP1001.
Unboxing and Sound Testing
Design and Features
Inside the box, there are just the speaker, a USB cable and a 3.5mm audio cable. I’m not really impressed with design of the speaker. I got the White version and it looks quite cheap. The shiny top looks good but the whole unit is made of plastic with a silver coating.
On the back, we can spot the line-in jack, mini-USB port and multi function button to Play/Pause and control volume. There is nothing special about this design and it is not something you can boast about.
As you can see in the video above, I failed to connect to the Inateck speaker in the first attempt. Besides, I start losing signals at around 20 feet, this is a little low compared to 30 feet of most other speakers.
I tested the speaker’s 500 mAh battery and it could last for nearly 4 hours with the volume level of around 80%.
Audio Quality
In terms of audio quality, I didn’t expect much from this speaker because a speaker at this size never can produce a mind-blowing sound. The Inateck BP1001 provides a quite flat sound that emphasizes on mid-range sounds and there is almost no bass coming out. The good thing is that it doesn’t have significant distortion as compared to other mini speakers.
Overall, the sound is very clear and absolutely better than the integrated speakers on your iPad, iPhone or Android smartphones. Unfortunately, it is a speaker to help you enjoy music.
Conclusion
Pros
- Clear sound.
- Less distortion.
- Very low price.
- Portable design.
Cons
- The speaker looks cheap.
- Bass response is very weak.
- Sound is flat and lacking details.
The Inateck BP1001 is available on Amazon in Black and White for $16. This is among the lowest-priced wireless speakers and if you just need a speaker that is slightly better than the one on your mobile device, this could be your choice.
