Last week, we covered recommended back to school applications for Blackberry users. As mentioned previously, the Blackberry isn’t exactly the device you would expect students to use. However, with the advent of more consumer-friendly features, Blackberry is beginning to break into this demographic. Regardless, Apple is still a popular choice for college students in terms of computing.
But now, due to more consumer-friendly pricing, Apple is becoming a choice for conumers looking for a cell phone and tablet. That being said, here are three recommended iOS applications that can be used across all iOS platforms (iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch).
Remember The Milk
This is the to-do manager that we all know and love. Remember the Milk is one of the premiere task managers for mobile users. The application allows you to have your tasks categorized, organized based on importance, and when they are due. Remember the Milk also allows you to get notified through email and even through notifications through email and text message. Plus, there is a workaround available out there that lets you incorporate Remember the Milk officially with Siri.
The key features of Remember the Milk is free, however you can purchase the Pro version for $25/year. What are the benefits of going pro? You have the ability to have your tasks immediately available on the Remember the Milk website and your other connected devices, plus you also get push notifications – a must for any task app.
Download Remember the Milk today on the App Store.
FlashCards
Flashcards are essential for any college or high school student who needs to study for the next test or exam. However, flashcards are becoming a bit archaic in their paper form. For those who don’t make use of the various study tools out there, who enjoy the use of flashcards, the paper form of flashcards are seen as wasteful and at the very least, expensive. Flashcards for iOS hopes to help alleviate the amount of flashcards being used by providing users with a digital alternative.
Flashcards for iOS allows you to create digital flashcards with text, images, and even audio. You can search and easily find them with FlashCards’ search and categorization tools. All of this for less than the cost of one paper set of flashcards at your local office supply store. FlashCards for iOS is available for $1.99.
Download FlashCards on the App Store, and help alleviate the need to dig into the forest and your wallet to study.
Awesome Note (+To-do/Calendar)
If you are like me, then you hate having all of your tasks and GTD programs all across the web and varied. It is much easier to have everything we need to get done, all in one spot for us to view. Awesome Note hopes to achieve this with their iOS app. Awesome Note is your go-to life organizer. From note taking to to-do lists, Awesome Note allows you to create and hold them all in one app. You even have a convenient calendar program in the app as well, making it easy to see the next time you have an opening in your busy schedule.
Awesome Note does this by allowing you to add various multimedia, text, and more to your notes. All of this is built-in and available through collaboration with iCal. This means that your changes that you create on Awesome Note will be available on iCal, which from there can be available online and other programs that make use of iCloud. The reach of Awesome Note is amazing. Did I mention that Awesome Note also has Evernote and Google Docs support.
The features that Awesome Note is numerous and very exciting to see and use. You can update your notes and other text documents through email and text message. Plus, since Awesome Note hopes to be your one-stop shop for anything you want to make use of text with, including private diaries if you must, Awesome Note has password protection – allowing you to keep your notes private. If you have a paper that is due tomorrow and all you have is Awesome Note, you’ll get a lot done. Awesome Note allows you to type full documents, email them off, and even print directly from Awesome Note.
