Every webmaster and blogger wants to see his website to succeed in this highly competitive networld. There are many theoretical concepts known to us on this topic. But as it is said, theories have limited use in practical world as far as blogging and web developing is considered. So considering all the practical aspects, I am writing this article with the motive of helping young budding webmasters in building successful websites.
1. Useful and informative Content:
If the writer provides easy to understand and unique information’s, garnished with quality and relevant imagery, there are high chances that you will get quality links, high spots in SERPs and online media exposure.
If you provide free information which is unparallel to your competitors in quality and quantity, then you’re bound to get an advantage over others.
2. Basic SEO:
I can assure that you do not have to be an SEO expert to rank your site up high on Google search engine. You just have to remember certain points like:
- Inclusion of Meta-tags.
- Proper permalink structure.
- Natural and limited usage of keywords
- Simple pathways in movement within the site.
- Provide relevant images and Title for the article
- Usage of H1,H2,H3 Tags
- Use of sitemap
- Avoid Duplicate content
- Using Canonical tags
3. Design:
If you want more people to visit your site and more pair of eyeballs to stick into your contents, then you need some good attractive graphics to design your websites. The most important point is to avoid common, free templates available over the net. I would also recommend not buying expensive templates also. The best solution is to pay a graphic designer to design a unique, simple, cost-effective template for your site, as you just need some extra ‘ordinary’ things to be extraordinary.
4. Competitors:
In every job, there is hard competition and pro-competitors to make you run for money. So to be ahead in this cat race, one needs to be innovative and unique in designing the site. Do not be reluctant towards your competitors. Rather take them as your mentor and keep a watch on their moves. Investigate and note down their quality moves which made them what they are today. Try to find out their links, their SEO and what CMS they are using. Try to learn the good points in them and try to incorporate the same in your site.
5. Promotion:
Try to promote your site with a bit of money tactfully, whenever you have a chance to do so. Do not be a spammer as it can cause you heavy. Use social platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ to popularize your website. Comment on other blogs that are related to your niche. Welcome Guest posts and be a guest blogger on renowned sites. Pay for ads in Adwords and be active on different forums. Promotion plays an integral part in building a successful website and if you follow the above points religiously, it’s just a matter of time that your website will gain popularity.
6. Speed:
This world relies totally on speed and originality, especially when it comes to internet blogging. So it is a prime point to increase your site’s loading speed as much as it can be done. This brings on two factors- first is user experience and second is SEO factor. Try to use a good, light server for your website and optimize your websites code (reduce no. of coded lines so that compilation is faster). Usage of sprites and optimization of images help a lot too. Use tools like Google weed, Pingdom, Yslow and many more. Minify your pages and static components and use CDN for all static contents. Avoid redirects and make your page cacheable (for both browser and server). Read in details what Google and Yahoo says about this topic. Always remember that if you are using script, do prefer asynchronous loading or else place them at the bottom.
7. RSS and email subscribers:
Normally the young bloggers and webmasters seems to be very happy with whatever information they have and forget some minute but important points that can take their website to another level. Always remember to capture email addresses and get visitors to subscribe to your feeds. After four years, you might have a bag of 50k Email list and 50k RSS subscribers. I guarantee, that is the biggest and the most valuable asset for any blogger on the long run.
8. Monetization:
This is just the fruit of success that any blogger wants to reap as soon as possible. But I would suggest not to hurry. There are virtually infinite ways to experiment on this section. But traditionally, there are 3 main ways to get money out of your blog:
1) Placing ads- CPM, CPA, CPC, and CPV. Basically you need to click, page view, view action or video to get paid.
2) Promotion of affiliate products.
3) Selling of your own products.
Wrap-up:
These above 8 Tips are not the only tips for building a successful website but they are the most essential ones. These are all known tips but what makes the difference is your creativity and dedicated experiments on different segments of your website (technical and non-technical). Lastly, everything depends on you and how you build your website thinking of your loyal visitors.

How long does it take for a new website to get page rank? BTW I am lucky to find your website, will visit everyday. Please update frequently. Thanks.
