Master & Dynamic released the MW07 earlier this year and now we have already had two new versions of the true wireless earphones, the MW07 Go and MW07 Plus. I loved the original MW07 and it had been my primary drivers for over 6 months until I got hands on the two new editions. Let’s find out all their new features.
Master & Dynamic MW07 Go
The MW07 Go becomes the most affordable version in the lineup with the price of just $199. As compared to other versions, the MW07 Go is the most compact and lightweight one. According to the manufacturer, its enclosure is 15% smaller than the original version. The charging case has a fabric exterior, it doesn’t look as fancy as the stainless steel case but it is still stylish and doesn’t get scratches like the other one.
Obviously, Master & Dynamic tried to make the earphones more durable and portable for people who use them everyday. The earpieces still come with silicone Fit Wings which provides secure fit on my ears, moreover, they stay even more securely because of the reduced weight.
However, the most important upgrade is the battery life. It increases from 3.5 hours to 10 hours of continuous playback and with the charging case, the total battery life increases from 14 hours to 22 hours. That means I can use the MW07 Go for about 2-3 weeks without the need of recharging.
The Bluetooth version is also upgraded from 4.2 to 5.0 which means the improvement in Bluetooth range and bandwidth.
The MW07 Go comes with all those upgrades without compromising the audio quality. It uses the same 10mm custom Beryllium drivers which delivers the same clear and beautiful sound as seen on the MW07.
Master & Dynamic MW07 Plus
The MW07 Plus is the high-end version in the lineup with the price tag of $299. This is essentially the original MW07 with the Bluetooth upgrade and battery expansion.
The Bluetooth technology is upgraded to 5.0 while the battery life also increases to 10 hours. Notably, the battery of the charging case is also upgraded, so the total battery life could reach 40 hours now. That means we can use the earphones for roughly a month without recharging. The battery is admirable in the world of true wireless earbuds. If you are using the Apple AirPods Pro, the total battery life is just 24 hours.
The MW07 Plus is obviously the best edition and it looks stunning in the handcrafted acetate body, however, it is probably not the best choice because the MW07 Go is $100 cheaper and delivers the same excellent sound. I’m interested in the MW07 Plus because of some advanced features like active noise cancellation. The earphones features Feedforward Active Noise-Cancellation which can reduce higher-frequency noise pretty good; Besides, I also hear less low-frequency noise when enabling this feature, so it is really a nice feature to have when you use the earphones on the road. Some other nice feature include Ambient Listening Mode and the ability to use the left and right earpieces independently.
Overall, you can’t go wrong with either the MW07 Go or MW07 Plus. Those are my favorite true wireless earphones not because of the new features but because of their natural sonic characteristics.
