Modify Watches Review – Design your own Watch

I am an avid geek stuff collector and I always look for interesting products around. Timepiece is among my favorite stuffs to collect because each product is a piece of art and they represent passion and ambition of manufacturers.

Modify Watches are the latest watches I’ve tried recently and there are some reasons that could make the watches appear on your hands. Who wouldn’t love to design and customize their own wristwatch?

Modify Watches are being crowdfunded on KickStarter and they are coming close to the goal of $50,000. Let’s check out my review of the product.

I received the review units from Modify Watches unexpectedly, so I haven’t got a chance to customize my own watch. Basically, when you order a Modify Watch on their website, you will be able to upload your own photo, after that, they will print your photo on the faceplate, assemble your watch and then you can mix and match your customized watch face with over 30 different straps.

Here I got the blue and black strap with 2 different watch faces. The timepiece is quite simple. Basically you will have an watch face made of stainless steel and transparent plastic, you slip it into a rubber strap and there you go. The strap can keep the watch face very tightly, so there is no chance it could fall out.

The watch face looks really good and as you can customize its plate, nothing is better than putting your own face, your baby or your family’s photo right on your wrist. Besides, the watch can keep time accurate with its quartz movement, although you may hear its ticking sound at night.

The rubber strap is very comfortable and it can fit my wrist perfectly. The rubber material may doesn’t look as good as leather or aluminum but it has its own advantages, specifically, it will stay tight on your wrist and it is also water-resistant. The only downside is that the rubber is very easy to catch dirt, so you will need to clean it very often.
