I’ve reviewed a lot of desk lamps lately, most of them look great but they lack the sturdy design and flexibility for professional works. The OxyLED Professional Architect Swing Arm desk lamp might be a better option if you’re looking for a more capable lamp. Let’s check it out.
Unboxing & Testing
Design & Performance
The OxyLED T4S is different to my previous lamps as it doesn’t have a big and heavy base. Instead, it uses a metal clamp base that can be easily attached to the side of my desk. The clamp is very strong and sturdy, so now you don’t have to worry that your cat could knock it off to the ground. And of course, the best advantage is that it almost doesn’t take any space on your desktop, this is a great solution to reduce the clutter of your workspace.
The OxyLED lamp is highly adjustable as you can adjust it at every joint, including the base pivot, the arm pivot, and the lamp head. Most of the parts are made of aluminum, so the lamp feels sturdy and those joints can be turned smoothly.
The lamp head is fully adjustable, I can turn it 90 degrees to the left or right, or turn it downwards. However, sometimes the head is getting out of place when I rotate it leftwards more than 90 degrees. So, it gets loose and I feel like it could be broken anytime. The head is made of plastic, so it feels even more flimsy. I really expect a more sturdy design of the head, considering that this is a very expensive lamp.
The lamp uses a stepless dimming touch control on top of the lamp head. You can tap it to turn on/off or hold it to adjust brightness. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to adjust the color temperature, it is set at 4000K which is quite relaxing and comfortable for my eyes.
The light is very bright and spread over a large area, so it will help reduce eye strain and shadows. I believe it is suitable for reading or any professional work.
The OxyLED T4S is a high-quality LED desk lamp with premium build quality. It would be perfect if the lamp head is more sturdy.
