Ripple has officially been launched on Kickstarter today by Ripple Network Technologies, Inc. The product is a penny-sized Bluetooth wearable designed by the creators of Misfit Shine and 360fly, and the service is provided by Tunstall Americas.
The product is totally different from current wearables on the market. This is actually the world’s first wearable support network that consists of the device and a companion service. If you have no idea what the product can do, check out the video below, it will explain all the functionalities.
In essence, here is how it works. You will wear it anywhere on your body, when you feel unsafe or have any trouble, you can click on the Ripple and the Tunstall monitoring team will immediately call you to support with your situation. They will receive your personal info and your location, so it will be easier and quicker to dispatch emergency services when you need it. In case you need immediate help but can’t talk, you can click on the device 3 times and they will send the first responders to your place.
The battery life of the Ripple is 6 months and they will replace the battery for free when you pay for the service.
The Ripple is launched on Kickstarter today and it will include the Bluetooth wearable and 1-year service, everything for just $129. They also have the more luxury version, the monogrammed sterling silver Bluetooth locket designed by Louis Tamis & Sons, for $199. The product is scheduled to ship in April 2017.
