We all know that Nexus 5 released on October 31st and 16GB Nexus 5 went out of stock within 16 minutes at some store while in 33 minutes at other. This time Google has been able to manage with supply better than previous year.
We all know that last year Nexus 4 went out stock within few minutes and remained as it is for at least 2 months. But now we are really happy that Google has learnt from the mistakes.
Most of the people have already received their units and are eagerly waiting to root their Nexus 5. What so special in rooting it. Well, it is a Nexus device and main purpose of the Nexus series is that it is meant for developers and that’s why is the device’s price so less, these things aside you no longer need to wait anymore as Nexus 5 has been rooted successfully. For that you need to follow the guide below.
STEP #1
Well, first of all you need to unlock the boot loader of your device. You can follow those steps from here. But remember unlocking the boot loader will erase all the data so make sure to create a backup before. Take your phone into Fastboot mode and then attach it into our PC. In command Prompt give command “FastBoot Devices”. If your phone gets recognised then type command “fastboot oem unlock” then a window will pop up click yes to that. After this give command “fastboot reboot” this will reboot your phone. Thus you have successfully unlocked the boot loader of your device.
STEP #2
After unlocking the boot loader now you need to download the SuperSu File and TWRP recovery now after downloading the both copy that SuperSU file into storage of your Nexus 5 and TWRP file to a folder where ADB is present. Rename the TWRP to Nexus5.img
STEP #3
Now take your Nexus 5 into recovery mode with the help of VOLUME DOWN and POWER BUTTON combination. After this connect your phone to system then enter the command “fastboot devices” after that flash the recovery image which you named as Nexus5 with the help of the command “fastboot flash recovery Nexu5.img”
STEP #4
Now again reboot your Nexus 5 and enter the recovery mode then find the “recovery option” and choose it. Once again reboot your Nexus 5 and again go into recovery mode find the SuperSU file, select it and install then your phone will restart again.
And thus you have successfully rooted your Nexus 5.
