SHARPER IMAGE Acupressure Foot Shiatsu Massager Review – Is It Good for Plantar Fasciitis?

By Tuan Do

I’ve had a heel pain for a while and I could feel it at the end of the day or after spending hours on my feet. It’s been relieved significantly recently but hasn’t gone completely yet. I decided to test the SHARPER IMAGE Acupressure foot massager to see if it could help reduce my foot pain.

Unboxing & Testing

Features & Performance

The Sharper Image brand has been well-known with American consumers and you can find their wide range of consumers home electronics on the market. The Acupressure massager looks and feels like a high-quality product. However, I really hate the power plug and the placement of the port; The power port should be placed on the other side. Besides, the L-shaped plug gets loose easily when I move the massager or step on the cord. I move the massager very often to different places in my house, so having to check the power plug every time is really an issue here.

It is quite straightforward to use the product. You will just need to place your feet on the base and press the orange power button. There are 3 more buttons underneath to adjust the heat, speed, and pressure.

On each foot bed, there are two modules of acupressure nodes and one shiatsu module. While the acupressure nodes keeps moving up and down to relieve stress on our heels and balls of feet, the shiatsu node rolls under our arches. The combination of those nodes really help soothe tired and sore muscles. If you have plantar fasciitis, this could be a great device to reduce the pain on your heels. Notice that this is considered as a supplemental massager to reduce your pain only, you should still follow your physician’s therapy and keeps stretching and strengthening programs.

My favorite feature of the massager is air compression. The cuff on top will tighten and loosen your feet repeatedly; It feels like someone is using two hands to press on your feet and hold them closer to the base. This is helpful because all the nodes on the base would press harder against my feet for a deeper massage.

Unlike my previous massagers, the Sharper Image Acupressure is a product that I use almost every day because of its effectiveness. I’d recommend it if you are dealing with plantar fasciitis or other pain on your foot; It is much better than having pain relievers.
