TaoTronics has produced a wide range of consumer products including standing desks, humidifiers, Bluetooth receiver/transmitter or lamps. Recently, they have jumped into the audio market with some headphones and soundbar. Are they any good? We’re checking out the TT-SK026 2.1 soundbar in this review.

The TaoTronics TT-SK026 is not a fancy soundbar as it comes only in one piece along with the remote control. The exterior is made of plastic and cloth grille. Buttons are placed on top but I rarely had to use it because I can use the TV remote control to adjust volume as well.
There are 4 connection types on this soundbar, including 3.5mm AUX-in, optical, coaxial, and Bluetooth 5.0. I chose Bluetooth for the convenience. Since there is no HDMI (ARC) port on this system, it doesn’t turn on/off automatically when I use it with my TV.
As the Taotronics soundbar is a budget product, I only expected it could sound better than the built-in TV speakers so that I can enjoy the sound a little more. Unfortunately, this is probably the worst soundbar I’ve ever used and sometimes I even prefer the TV speakers. It adds some punch to the bass response and makes the sound slightly richer and warmer. However, as soon as I crank up the volume to a moderate level, there is significant distortion that is rarely found on recent speakers. This is really disappointing because I couldn’t enjoy the sound at all, especially when playing music.
Overall, I can’t recommend the TaoTronics TT-SK026 soundbar at the moment. It has a good look but the sound is just terrible. I am quite surprised that many customers on Amazon actually love this product.
