The Evolution of Online Learning Platforms 2 Years Into the Pandemic

When the Covid 19 crisis hit, many schools were closed, and schools opted to hold classes online. Even if most schools had the option of online classes, they were mostly for students far away who couldn’t go to school. As the vaccine is being searched for, most schools are still closed since the cases are still high. Many schools are finding ways on how they can make online classes much better and more interactive. Most schools are using platforms like Zoom so that many students can log in at once and have a chance to interact as they learn.  

However, this new technology has been hard to adopt, but many schools are finding ways they can make the teachers and students conversant with this new technology. Even if online classes are easier, physical classes are still more interesting, and you cannot beat the intensity it has on various students. 

Some of the ways that online classes have impacted students include;

1. Online classes have made it easier for students to be able to get various files that are linked to what they are studying. The advantage of these classes is that students can get their notes easily by clicking on a link given to them by their lecturers. Learning has also become more fun since students have a chance to learn new things as they are asked to do assignments and various research work. Learning has also become more interactive because students don’t have a choice as they have to interact with each other to do various projects.  

2. Most schools took the initiative of learning through Zoom, Google classrooms and Microsoft teams. Others who seek to further their education took online courses from platforms such as Learning Cloud. However, everything good comes with its own challenges. Like online classes, many students might find it hard to access classes because they don’t have a good internet connection.  Other students also lack laptops making it difficult to access classes and do examinations. 

3. Another setback that came with online classes is that not many students stay focused since some might be involved with other activities while the class is going on. Another thing is that when online, there might be a notification that might pop up on your screen, and you might be tempted to open it, drifting your mind from the class. This is why teachers have found a way to deal with this by making the classes more engaging and interactive.

4. Another advantage of online classes is that teachers can upload exams and assignments easily and students have to answer the questions and upload them on the required platform.  Through this, learners get a chance to be occupied for a long time, and they also have a chance to research a lot. Even though some of the time, students may end up not doing assignments because they lack an update on the assignment, this has made it easier for students and teachers. Also, teachers could set the platform to mark assignments and quizzes for the students without them marking them.

Conclusion 

Covid had a huge impact on most firms, including the education centre. Due to technology, studying has become easier because the students have a chance to learn online, whether they are elementary students, high schoolers, or university students. Each platform had its way of teaching students. Because of technology, students were not left behind during quarantine, and all they had to do was pick up from where they were when schools opened. When other schools saw that online classes were effective, they chose only to take them online. Change can be difficult, but once you decide to appreciate change, you won’t feel like the change is too much to handle.
