If you are looking for game apps for your phone, you sometimes can’t get the one you want if you have an iPhone and it’s only on Android, or vice versa. Some developers make them for all types of digital devices, so no matter what smartphone you have, you can enjoy them. You can feel a bit cheated when, because of the handset you have chosen, you cannot play a particular game, but developers are beginning to realize this and more of the games are now available on whichever one you have bought.
Here we are going to look at just five of the popular ones available on both Apple and Android – there are many more.
Stranger Things
This is based on the very popular Netflix series with the same characters to help you solve the puzzles and fight the enemy. Fans of the show will love this game, but even players that have never watched it will find it great fun. It takes a heavy influence from the 80s, as does the program, which creates a brilliant adventure game setting.
Sea Hero Quest
Sea Hero Quest is not just a very enjoyable game, it’s helping researchers that are looking at how Alzheimer’s and Dementia affect navigation. If you give your permission, the game sends the data of how well you have memorized the map, which you need to do before starting the game, to the researchers. The more you play, the more data it sends to help them understand both of these conditions.
Mini Metro
Can you find a way to connect your own network of underground stations? Using maps based on cities from all over the world, you progress from a few stations to dozens of them, based on how busy they are and what resources you have left. You only get an upgrade at the end of each week, but Mini Metro is a very relaxing game, which is worth waiting for if you run out of what you need before the end of the week.
Gorogoa
Gorogoa is a puzzle game with a difference. It’s comprised of illustrated panels that have to be arranged in different ways to solve puzzles. Each of the panels was hand-drawn by the game’s creator, Jason Roberts. It has already won seven awards and been nominated for several more. The game is augmented by an intriguing story and is all about the images and matching them in the right places.
There will always be games available on just one of the platforms, just as Xbox and PlayStation have games exclusives to them. But the ones we have shown you here can be downloaded to either iPhone or Android, and all of them will provide you with hours of fun.
