The new WordPress 3.1 “Reinhardt” has been released to the public. This version code is named after the jazz guitarist Django Reinhard, the update focuses on content management, workflow and admin features. Below are some notable new features of WordPress 3.1:
Post Formats
The Post Formats feature allows users to customize the way a WordPress post is displayed on the page. It provides a list of formats that are available to all themes that support the feature.
Admin Bar
The bar is displayed on all pages of site when a user is logged in. It contains some quick links to useful admin screens such as Comments, New Posts, Dashboard, Appearance.
Internal Linking
If the post we’re writing references an earlier post, normally, we need to search the site for it and then insert the hyper link. Now WordPress 3.1 add the internal linking function and it gives us the option to search for posts from within the writing screen.
That’s great, huh? Go to your Dashboard and upgrade to WordPress 3.1 now.
